Give Thanks

As we come to the Lord's Table, let us pause and reflect on the significance of this moment. The bread and the cup are not just symbols; they are reminders of Christ's love, sacrifice, and the new life we have in Him.

The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 that on the night Jesus was betrayed, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same way, after supper, He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of Me."

When we take the bread, we remember Christ's body, broken for us on the cross. He bore our sins, pain, and burdens so we could be reconciled to the Father. And as we drink the cup, we remember His blood poured out, a new covenant that invites us into a relationship with the Father not based on what we've done but on what Jesus has done for us.

As we partake, let's remember the love of Christ that brought us to this table. Let's examine our hearts, seeking the forgiveness and grace He freely offers. And let's give thanks for our new life because of His sacrifice.
